Plate Coating Services

SMS Fabricators specialize in various plating and coating methods that improve upon the quality, durability, and aesthetics of parts, components, and equipment.

  • Chrome Plating — A chromium layer over a metal to be decorative, provide corrosion resistance and can also minimize wear and tear and increase the life span of a metal.
  • Powder Coat Finish — A dry coating process used as a metal finish through an electrostatic process, then cured with heat. It provides a high-quality finish in terms of functionality and overall appearance.
  • Anodized — A electrochemical process that converts the metal surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant, andic oxide finish. Aluminum is ideally suited for this process, although other nonferrous metals can be anodized.
  • Paint — A mixture of a pigment and a suitable liquid to form a closely adherent coating when spread on a surface in a thin coat.
  • Nickel Plating — Is the earlier step of chrome plating though not as brilliant in finish it still gives wear resistance, corrosion resistance and hardness.
  • Black Oxide — Or blackening is a conversion coating for ferrous materials, stainless steel, copper and copper-based alloys, zinc, powdered metals, etc. It’s a chemical treatment the adds a nice black look with a mild layer of corrosion and abrasion resistance.
