Materials
Special Mine Services welders and fabricators competently use several types of materials to meet customer specifications and needs.
- Steel — Alloy of iron and carbon and usually other elements, used extensively as a structural and fabricating material comes in a variety of grades.
- Stainless Steel — Alloy of iron and chromium usually nickel making it resistant to corrosion though is slightly softer and weaker than steel.
- Copper — Is a soft, malleable and ductile metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity.
- Aluminum — Has a density lower than those of other common metals, resistant to oxidation. It come in many different grades and harnesses.
- Titanium — Strong and malleable, very corrosion resistant. Used in the manufacture of strong lightweight alloys such used on aircraft parts.
- Delrin — Is an engineered thermoplastic used in precision part requiring high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.
- MC Nylon — A high molecular thermoplastic which is widely applied in bearing machined parts because it shows very good mechanical strength & wear resistance while having low water-absorption & dimensional stability.
- Garolite — Is a thermoset composite made from fiberglass and phenolic epoxy resin resulting in a glass-epoxy laminate extremely stable over temperature with low-moisture absorption and a high strength-to-weight ratio.
- Bosch Rexroth Extrusion — An aluminum extrusion available to create an almost limitless range of products. Mainly used to construct structural framing systems.
